Medical designs, prototypes, develops, and manufactures surgical instrumentation, primarily for orthopaedic and spinal surgery.  We were founded in 2000, in Pelham, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, one of the leading orthopaedic surgical centers of the Southeast.  3DM brings over 20 years of experience in the medical and surgical device field and can provide solutions to both medical device manufacturers who sell instrumentation and directly to healthcare facilities and providers.

3D Medical intends to serve as a major provider of ideas, services, and solutions in the area of surgical device prototyping, design, and manufacturing.  We work with individual innovators to prototype, design, and develop new products for the orthopaedic and spinal industries in a safe environment that protects intellectual property.  3DM can also serve as an outsourced R&D Department for existing device manufacturers, providing a cost- and time effective service for these industries.  3DM currently has collaborative agreements with four orthopaedic surgeons and is working with a medical device company to develop instrumentation for spinal allograft implants.
